Polka,
pretty chocolate female, affectionate, kind, filled us with
joy for 18 months, Damn day when I had the good idea to have
her do a heart check before having it reproduce as many do
and as I did for some years. The cardiologist veterinarian
wouldn’t let me hold her during the ultrasound and called
his assistant who was feeding a sick cat just before, she
brought him typhus and killed her. We tried to save her but
my vet didn’t do the tests fast enough, and it’s a disease
that goes very fast, he thought it was gastroenteritis
because my cats don’t come out and I don’t make any exposure
or outboards, when it was diagnosed, it was already too late,
she unfortunately suffered a lot because we were hard to
save her, we kept the hope almost until the end, I made her
sleep after three weeks, she had become a walking skeleton.
I am very sorry, since that day no more heart echo in my
cats, it is anyway useless because we do not have a genetic
test, a healthy cat does not mean a cat without HCM and it
is not a disease of the Burmese, it is a disease that can
affect any cat but not specific to our race, we have no
genetic disease for the Sacred of Burma.
